We spent one week in Guanajuato. Everything we could have wanted or needed was in the home, fluffy towels and great bed linens. We especially enjoyed the large terrace and we had most of our breakfasts outside overlooking the town and had nightly drinks there as well. Her property is beautiful and although there are 4 other apartments, there was privacy and space. Liz was a great host and a wonderful person. She was available when needed and also ensured that we had privacy. We loved Guanajuato. There was lots to do, lovely restaurants and cafes, and we enjoyed the warmth and friendliness of those from GTO. We wouldn't hesitate to go back to GTO and stay at Liz's again. It is a trek back up to the apartment but it's easy to get a taxi to take you up the hill at the end of a long day. The hill also affords a fantastic view--it's worth it! Jill
I had an extended stay at florecer Casitas and it was marvelous! There is art everywhere you look, from rustic terra-cotta Mexican pottery to contemporary art and ethnic textiles. Ample closet and dresser space gave me a place to store everything I brought with me. Much thought has been given to how the space “lives,” with lamps, throw pillows, and light switches just where you want them. All the furnishings are upscale: high quality furniture, linens, dishes, cookware, and flatware. The kitchen is large and is completely furnished for a serious cook — you could cook a gourmet feast here. A big plus is the huge partly-covered patio with a breathtaking panoramic view of Guanajuato. Best home-away-from-home I’ve ever had. Highly recommended! Connie
I consider myself lucky to have found this wonderful home away from home while visiting Guanajuato. As a lone female traveler, I am sensitive to not only convenient and comfortable surroundings, but also safety. Florecer Casitas provides not only these, but so much more. What a lovely, peaceful place to stay! The owner Liz has thought of every comfort and detail, more than I would ask or expect. Whether sitting inside relaxing, reading and enjoying a glass of wine or doing so outside in the gardens, I quickly rejuvenated from my travels and found myself excited to explore some of the wonderful experiences Guanajuato offers. The casitas are in a great location out of the more crowded central area of Guanajuato, yet within an easy ten minute walk down the hill into town. Later in the day, it was nice to have an option when returning uphill to either walk, catch a small bus or a taxi. During my week in Guanajuato, I did all three. Liz graciously helped set up a private tour of the city and surrounding areas, a wonderful on-site massage and return transportation to the airport in Leon. Needless to say, I loved my visit to Guanajuato and most definitely my stay at Florecer Casitas. I highly recommend it as a place to stay while exploring the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay! I cannot wait for my return!
